Department of Mass Communication is the first amongst boys' colleges in the province to start Master's Degree classes in Mass Communication. The department started enrollment of students from 2004. The first batch of students appeared in the Punjab University exam 2005 and showed 100% result. In 2000, our students passed the exams with flying colors and in the session 2006-08 one of our students Awais Hameed Butt secured 2nd position on the whole in Punjab. The department has also started BS (4-year) Hons. Program in 2010.
The department has a rich library comprising of more than 1500 books from which students as well as scholars are being benefitted equally. The department has been publishing a monthly magazine titled “Iblag” and intends to start an FM 100 Radio station in near future.
MA Mass Communication and BS Programs aim at providing necessary theoretical background and practical training to those students who intend to adopt Mass Communication as a profession. Apart from regular faculty members, senior and qualified professionals in the discipline of Mass Communications are associated with this department as visiting faculty members.
Students are also offered internship facilitates in different avenues of Mass Communication including Print Media, Electronic Media, Public Relations and Advertising. For the academic and professional grooming of t students, different assignments, seminars, class discussions and field visits to various relevant department are conducted on regular basis.
